Panasonic Viera S1 Series TC P42S1 Plasma HDTV has a different look with the edges of the television being rounded. In addition, the speakers are hidden, and it looks as if the sound is coming from under the television. The frame of the TV is entirely black with a thin silver strip bordering the bottom edge of the television. The Panasonic and Viera logos, the indicator light and the power button are also present on the television, but they tend to blend with the frame. So, they do not pose any distractions.

The remote provides direct access to the Viera Link, Viera Tools and SD card. Though the remote cannot control through infrared other devices connected to the television, but it still allows some degree of control on HDMI device that are connected to the television through the Viera Link.

There are three color temperature setups that you can jiggle with, and based on the lighting in the room, the TV has the technology to adjust its picture. You can also adjust the level of the black. The television has the ability to zoom in using the Zoom mode. The best part about the Panasonic Viera S1 Series TC P42S1 Plasma HDTV is that you can avoid temporary burn in of the image, and if it occurs, you can rectify it. This can be done via the pixel orbiter which can be set on automatic or on set intervals. In case there is a burn in or images, the orbiter will clear it up after it finishes sweeping across the screen.

The television has three HDMI ports, with two at the back and one at the side. The back also has two-component video port, AV input with composite, and RF port for connecting an antenna or cable. In addition, there is an optical digital audio port, SD card slot, and a second AV port with composite video on the side panel.

The Panasonic Viera S1 Series TC P42S1 Plasma HDTV has outstanding quality of picture and color. In addition, the performance is fantastic.
