Though Sony is the market leader in Blu ray players, Samsung is not very far and boasts of equally good Blu ray players. Both the manufacturers use Blu ray and the technology of video compression which allows high definition playback.
The first Blu ray player that reached the US market was from Samsung and it was the BD-P1000. This player plays not only the Blu ray discs, but also the standard DVDs and that too giving the best quality image. In addition, it has multi channel PCM audio output and standard Dolby Digital.
It also has an input option of digital camera card which is compatible with features such as Multimedia card, Secure Digital card, Memory stick, Mini secure card and Multimedia card. Through these features, the user can display high resolution digital photos on his or her player.
As compared to these features, the LD Blu ray player has Dolby/Digital decoding. But the flip side of LD players is that it does not have network content as high as the HD televisions. It also does not have a remote which is backlit for use in a dark room. Another negative of the LD player is that when a user wants to use the USB port, he has to leave the front panel open at all times, which may not be a wonderful thing to do.
Talking about LD players, it is not wrong to say that while there is lot of room for improvement in these players, the Samsung Blu ray players are technologically very sound, far better than LD Blu ray players and a joy to use.More Articles :
