The Dell Inspiron 545 desktop falls between a budget desktop and mid-range desktop because it costs around $720, and it also has some features that above what you would find in a budget desktop. It has a black plastic glossy front and a media card reader that is situated in the front panel door. However, this reader is hidden. So, no one will know that it exists.

The Dell Inspiron 545 desktop comes with a 2.3 Ghz Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 processor, 8 GB DDR2 RAM, 256 MB ATI Radeon HD 3450 graphics card, 1 TB hard drive, dual layer DVD writer and Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 operating system. While many experts feel that the Dell Inspiron 545 desktop is overpriced considering its specs and features, there are others who feel that this model from Dell makes up its value with its 1 TB hard drive and the famous Dell service.

However, when it comes to performance, the Dell Inspiron 545 desktop does better than its competition, which are priced lower. In addition, the desktop performs tasks like file conversion, web browsing and light multi-tasking quite efficiently.  

The graphics card in the Dell Inspiron 545 desktop has several video outputs, including an HDMI output. You can use this output to connect the computer to your television or LCD television that has an HDMI input. In addition, it has 4 USB ports, an Ethernet jack and modem. However, you will not find digital audio or FireWire and eSATA in the Dell Inspiron 545 desktop.
